Registration Guide – Studied Outside Nigeria
Step-by-step NYSC registration for foreign-trained graduates.
Before the Portal Opens
- Begin gathering all required documents early — some take time to obtain.
- Ensure your passport photographs meet NYSC standards (white background).
- Monitor the official NYSC website and social media for registration dates.

Online Registration
1 Create an Account
- Use a valid email address, NIN, and phone number to sign up.
- A verification link will be sent to your email.
- Due to heavy traffic the link may delay — if it fails, try a new email strictly for NYSC.
2 Fill in Your Bio-Data
- Enter your full name, date of birth, state of origin, and personal details exactly as on your documents.
- Accuracy is critical to avoid delays during verification.
3 Select Physical Verification Location
- Choose a verification centre that is convenient for you.
- Nigerian-trained graduates do not participate in physical verification.
4 Upload Your Documents
- Upload all required foreign-trained documents — see the foreign-trained documents list.
- NYSC only accepts JPEG format, max 200 KB per file. Use the File Converter tool if needed.
5 Biometrics & Photo Capture
- Visit an accredited NYSC registration centre.
- Your fingerprints and a fresh passport photograph will be captured.
6 Make Payment
- Complete payment online through the NYSC portal.
- Pay an additional ₦3,000 to receive your Call-Up Letter via SMS.
7 Print Physical Verification Slip
- After completing your upload, print the Physical Verification Slip.
- Take this slip along with all original documents to the verification centre.
8 Print Your Green Card
- You can print your Green Card only after being cleared during physical verification.
Physical Verification
Physical verification is mandatory for all foreign-trained graduates. NYSC uses it to confirm the authenticity of your academic documents, identity, and travel history before issuing your Call-Up Letter.
You must attend in person at the verification centre you selected during online registration.

What Happens During Verification
- NYSC officials compare your physical documents with those you uploaded.
- They verify your identity and travel history.
- You will be asked to write a short essay on a given topic.
- If everything is in order, your portal will show you have been cleared.
After clearance, begin monitoring your dashboard for your Call-Up Letter.
Call-Up Letter Release
- Your Call-Up Letter will be available on your NYSC dashboard once processing is complete.
- The letter shows your Call-Up Number, State of Deployment, and Camp Reporting Date.
- Check your dashboard regularly.
In-Camp Registration
Once you receive your Call-Up Letter and report to your assigned NYSC Orientation Camp, you will complete in-camp registration. This confirms your details and activates your status as a Corps Member.
Ensure you have originals and 2–3 photocopies of all required documents.

Important Notes
- Keep your documents safe in a waterproof folder.
- NYSC does not accept laminated Green Cards or Call-Up Letters.
- You must be physically present for registration — no proxies.
